Eduardo Camavinga to Man Utd: Real Madrid’s ambition opens door to dream Amorim signing

Manchester United have been given an opening that could see Eduardo Camavinga leave Real Madrid for Old Trafford in a deal that would solve a succession of problems.

Ruben Amorim’s squad needs an overhaul, yet with the transfer window in full swing, so far only Matheus Cunha has arrived. A deal for Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo is in the pipeline, but negotiations have dragged on for weeks.

The midfield also needs to be examined, and some fresh legs like Camavinga would be a dream for Amorim.

United have, of course, done business with Real Madrid in the recent past, signing Raphael Varane and Casemiro from the Club World Cup semi-finalists. And Los Blancos have opened the door to another move, with Fichajes reporting that they are prepared to throw Camavinga into a deal to secure PSG midfielder Vitinha.

Clearly, he is not untouchable at the Bernabeu, and if Xabi Alonso’s side really believe they can sign the Portugal international, he is a player who could be sacrificed.

Man Utd a perfect destination for Camavinga

The match between Man Utd and Camavinga is a strong one. According to data analytics firm SciSports rates the Old Trafford side as the France international’s perfect club.

Amorim’s side are given a Club Fit score of 78, which stands above even Los Blancos.

A move to the Premier League giants might see Camavinga sacrifice some of his potential – United only have two stars in the development category compared to Real Madrid’s three – but in terms of playing time and playing style, the English side come out on top.

The 22-year-old would, according to SciSports, slot in at Man Utd as the best player in the squad, with his persistent running power something that the Red Devils have missed in the middle of the park.

With an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €60 million, his price is attainable if the English side can clear the decks of the likes of the wantaway quartet of Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, Antony and Jadon Sancho. The combined ETV of these four players clears €170m, easily funding a potential move for Camavinga – and perhaps one or two other additions.

Getting Camavinga to Old Trafford might be the easy bit of this puzzle. There are a lot of pieces that need to fall into place to make the deal happen, but with Real Madrid covetously eyeing Vitinha and willing to make a big sacrifice to get him, this is a possibility to keep an eye on.
